They failed to inform them that they needed another deposit into an account so that they could pay the creditor. Since they had an agreement of payments with the creditor and the payment was late, they garnished wages. Now the $5k debt is $10k and they are taking out 25% of the wages. They can't even afford their house payment now. GHS keeps saying that they are sending paperwork to them and Wells Fargo and have not. Mom gets the run around every time she calls. I am on my last settlement. As Marie said, it took us a long time to get into this mess and it will not be undone overnight. However, that being said, GHS are very poor communicator. You do have to keep the communication lines open. At the beginning of this journey I was told that they do not provide legal advice. So if you are summon to court, as I have been, you do have to file and, yes, it will cost you a couple of hundred. However, in Oregon, after I filed my answer to their summons, the court referred us to arbitration and, of course, GHS arbitrated for me. Remember, it is the credit card company suing you not GHS. We have 3 accounts that will be settled in end of August this month and working on another. I was told after my first payment a small monthly maintenance fee would be subtracted. in a year i paid over $6000.00 , they paid no one. I told them stop withdrawing money from my account & send me a refund. They sent $1033.00 & claimed the balance was used to maintain my account<ul></ul> These people are thies in my opinion. Springs. After a year i'd paid $6500. no bill was paid. Reading your reviews is the 1st i heard of charging the first 4 payments, I was told a small maintenance fee would be charged. I closed my acc. 11/10 & got a settlement check of $1083.00 i was told the rest was used for account maintenance.
