Fidelity Debt Solutions, also known as Aaron Mortgage Group, is a California based debt settlement company. The company appears to have been a mortgage company that has switched over to debt settlement. I was told they had been in business for seven years on the phone. Their BBB record shows them as being in business for just over four years.

Fidelity Debt Solutions charges 14% of your total debt amount. They set up your program with two higher payments, which go directly to fees, the rest of your program is based on a flat monthly fee. They are not members of TASC. Although they do charge a reasonable fee and they have a good rating with the BBB, their switch from a mortgage to debt settlement company is not a good sign. Also, not being TASC members and having a staggered fee structure is not beneficial to the client.

My husband and I chose fidelity debt because they had the lowest fees and because they are rated “A” with the better business bureau. I was a little leery the first couple of months because the creditors kept calling me, I was told by customer service that the calls were normal for the first few months. I was told to fill out a call log where I would write down which creditors called me, this way their legal department would send the harrassing creditors a violation letter. I was skeptical at first, but the calls have pretty much stopped. Overall I think that we made the right decision.

TERRIABLE!!!!!!! i was with this company for about 6 months and they did NOTHING for me only took my money. I was served papers from one of my creditors and when I called fidelity in a panic the manager assured me she would call the creditor and work out a payment plan or something and still nothing was done not even a phone call. i canceled out of the program with a loss of around 2,800 that they made for doing nothing!!!! DO NOT GO WITH THIS COMPANY.

Our experience with FDS was a total nightmare. They did nothing, assured us the collections would not take legal action. Well they did, all of them in fact!We were forced into bankruptcy to keep from losing our house and keep from having our wages garnished. They do not work with the creditors, they just take your money. We had filed a complaint with our attorney general and thanks to them we did get most of our money back from Fidelity. They are nothing but a scam! Frankly I do not believe the success stories listed above.

Fidelity Debt Solutions sucks. My wife and I spent 10 months in its debt settlement program and the calls from creditors never stopped. In fact, we were sued by one of our creditors, which also informed us that they don’t deal with debt settlement companies. We are being forced to file for Chapter 7 and our credit is ruined thanks to Fidelity, which advised us to go delinquent with all our accounts. We were never late before, we were just looking for a way out. To make a long story short, after many phone calls and threats against them, I got them to refund 60% of all the money we paid into the program, but we still lost 2 thousand dollars. Fidelity is a scam, as are most debt settlement companies. If your credit card debt is overwhelming, your best bet is to contact a credit counseling agency, most of whom do have legitimate relationships with the credit card industry and are in a position to negotiate lower interest rates on your behalf. Forget debt settlement companies, they are worthless and should be put out of business.

Probably one of the worst companies in customer service that I have ever delt with. All they care about is getting there money, they do not give a damn about you or what financial situation you are in. DO NOT go with Fidelity Debt Soultions, you are better off calling creditors your self and working something out

I have been with this company for 1 year and they have settled a $1000 claim .. I have 2 very large claims and nothing. I am seriously looking elsewhere and I will contact my Attorney General and report them. if its possible to get what I have put in .. or at least some of it . I will do it. I have had 6 counselors .. they seem to quit and leave my account in limbo. Then the Sheriff serves me papers … its unbeliveable! But we are desperate!

I actually already have a nice judgment against them.
Of course they appeal, but this should stand.
I also know about other people suing them, and will get more discovery.
If you want to work with me, send me an email to:

stopfidelity@hunlap.com

In your email you will have to declare your real name, phone number (so I can verify) that you are not in any way connected to fidelity, aaron mortgage, etc…
Otherwise I will be suspicious, and won’t reply.

I am also considering:
1 – Class action lawsuit
2 – Talking to the atty general

BBB complaints listed as 2 is way off. The San Diego BBB has 69 complaints against them, is not BBB acreddited, and has a rating of F. I’m also trying to get my money back.

I lost $3,44.00 to them, was sued by four of the creditors, and ended up taking a loan against my 401K to pay all the creditors.

You would be much better off negotiating on your own with your creditors. Lesson learned the hard way. What a fool I was.
