Debtmerica, also known as Debtmerica Relief, has an F rating with the Better Business Bureau. An F rating means:
We strongly question the company’s reliability for reasons such as that they have failed to respond to complaints, their advertising is grossly misleading, they are not in compliance with the law’s licensing or registration requirements, their complaints contain especially serious allegations, or the company’s industry is known for its fraudulent business practices.
This is strange because the company only has 2 complaints in the last 36 months. There must be some other issue with them. Debtmerica does charge the industry standard 15% of your total debt amount. They are also a member of TASC.

I’ve called several debt settlement companies looking for help. Most of the ones I spoke with only painted a pretty picture of what they were going to do for me but did not relate to me the risks involved with debt settlement. Debtmerica was really the only one that explained everything to me in a way that made sense. They were patient and qualified my situation to make sure their program would be effective. The other guys were willing to start me without even reviewing my statements and tried to sell me with lower payments by extending the length of my program to a a point that would have probably gotten me sued. I am in the process of enrolling with Debtmerica now. They put everything in writing, including their money back guaranty. I can’t imagine why they would have an ‘F’ rating with the BBB. These guys were well above the rest.

I was told that debtmerica would be able to help me get my finances under control, however…. after I filled out and signed all the documents required of me, they called and said that they wouldn’t be able to help anymore. I’m very upset, and feel like I was taken for a fool for believing them in the first place. DO NOT USE DEBTMERICA, they will likely do the same to you.
