Debt Regret

Setup Fee: 15%
Monthly Fee: None
Settlement Fee: None

TASC Members: Yes
BBB Complaints: 8

Debt Regret runs a pretty standard debt settlement program, 15% of your total debt amount spread out over the first 15 months of the program. Your first 4 payments go directly toward their fees. Debt Regret quoted 40% settlements, which is one warning sign in the debt settlement questions that you should ask any company before signing up.

Debt Regret is a TASC member company. Instead of setting up a trust account for you, they have you set up an account at your bank, which you may or may not prefer.

We have nothing bad to say about them. When my husband and I started with Debt Regret, we were about 100K in debt and today, just two years into the program, we only have 18K left. We hope to be done within less than the original 36 months we signed up for. We were very aggressive in our savings and they did the rest. With regard to the 40% savings examples mentioned in the review, as far as we are concerned, were high. They actually did better for us and always treated us fair and told us how things really were. They did not tell us things just make us happy. At times we weren’t, but that is simply because of the situation we are in and that is not their fault!

I must say that when I first started calling around I couldn’t find anything or anyone that had any clue what a financial professional was until I found TASC. I narrowed down TASC members to only ACCREDITED members, the BEST of the BEST, and called almost everyone. I was so pessimistic and this was back before the BBB and the FEDS were trying to gang up on this ONE INDUSTRY that really works. I called Debt Regret thinking I’d have yet another very Scripted but informative lecture of how the process works but I was stunned at the total customized approach they made. I don’t want to seem rude but these guys were just quite, had all the awards, recognitions but quite. I found out from my first call why these guys are so quite, because they are so unique and have the smartest FINANCIAL PROFESSIONALS, REAL CERTIFIED PROFESSIONALS that knew FAR more then me. In addition, this guy didn’t care if I started with them or not. He said they do a review and will let me know if I qualified for their standards. I thought that this was going to cost money but it was free, and they never bothered to call me once after telling me I was approved and why. I had to call them to start, meanwhile my phone rang 6-8 times a day from god knows what companies hard selling me on all this garbage I learned was just Tricks and Scams from a Documentary Debt Regret sent me free of charge via email. This film blew my top and I opened up the other email sent to me and it was full of actual settlement letters, reports, statistics on the company, and more then I could have possibly thought to ask for. I wanted to bust these guys’ balls but they never let me until I started. I settled 4 MBNA accounts all at once , 15% on the dollar. My other 9 accounts were not that great but my average was 26% on the dollar on $88,645.11 in credit card debt. I’m a CPA too. The only complaint I have is that they mother you so much and call you every two weeks, I guess its not a bad thing but it was just too much attention. I just wanted to be done and didn’t want to talk about my debt, I was making more money and just felt this issue was behind me. Other then their RULES about staying in touch, this is a SURE THING for anyone SMART enough to Follow what these Quite Smart guys say , you’ll learn all you could ask , and they’ll never ask you to start. Totally soft and easy. The Settlements blew me away and that first phone call with that Pro. You just knew his lawn was cut. They must pay a Fortune for their payroll. That’s why I chose them. They only have 5 complaints on the BBB and the BBB is a rip-off. Ripping off my ATM company too with these letter grades. The BBB is so corrupt. “LETTER GRADES” how can companies with none to even 10 complaints have an F. CORRUPTION. Anyway, I’m not giving them a “10″ because they needed to be open 24hrs for my schedule. The PRICE the PRICE pays for itself after the first settlement. With ANY company unless they charge you up front. Those types of companies that Charge ALL their fee up front may eventually get you Debt Free but they do not have their act together like Debt Regret. These guys are Studs. Price. I was heading for Ch7 and I Paid back less then $40,000 of money I owed. Enough said. Use these guys if you want to hire the best. I bet they’re all similar at this level, these guys simply blew me away and talked to me for any HOUR and never asked more then my first name.

Not a fan of this company. I was desperate, and they knew it. I could not save any money, but they told me to keep paying them anyway. Beware of a credit card company suing you.
You can do their service by yourself, and save the hassle.
