Setup Fee: 20%
Monthly Fee: $39
Settlement Fee: 10%

BBB Complaints: 11*

Credit Consultants, which is a DBA for International Diversified Funding, comes up with three different listings in the BBB. One in Ohio (which appears to be where their call center is located), one in Texas and another in Nevada (which appears to be their main account). The 11 complaints quoted above is from the Nevada account ONLY. There were 3 other complaints for the Ohio registry.

Credit Consultants have some of the highest fees we have seen, charging 20% to setup plus 10% of the settlement savings. On the plus side, they are members of TASC and USOBA.

I was with this company for 8 mths. They never had 1 offer to settle an account during this time. I had to small accounts that probally could have been settled. When I inquired about it I was told they try to settle the highest one first. Also, I ended up being sued by one of my credit cards at which time I was told “sorry that u have hit a bump in the road”. After 8 mths I am worse off then when I started and am seriously considering bankruptcy. I have filed a complaint with the PA Attorney’s General Office for misleading statements made by this company. My main complaint is they take a large sum upfront before any settlement are made and by the time u realize this is not working they have your money and it’s not refundable. They are making a fortune because of this. I do not recommend using this company

I have been in this program for a year now and they only settled one small card for me and I settled one myself now I have 2 cards that are suing me and 2 others that im sure they will be next. They tell me they are working on it but never send any proof iam getting out of this program but have lost thousands of dollars now that I could have used to settle my credit card debt. Iam in worse shape then I was before and literally sick from the anxiety from this. In the economy today we are looking for credible companies to help us with the credit card debt and want to pay our credit card debt but then we get lied to by the people that are suppossed to help us now I feel I can trust no one because of them.

    DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!

I promise that you can get out of debt YOURSELF!!!

They’ll tell you really nice things that will put your mind at ease & make you feel assurred that they’re taking care of EVERYTHING for you, trust me it’s Bulls***!!!

When they were talking me into the swindle they made it sound like I would be paying $2oo & 34 of that would go to them & the rest would go to my Escrow to be used when they’ve negotiated a settlement… NOT TRUE!!!! Yeah they get the $34 but what they DON’T tell you is that the remainder goes to their OUTLANDISH fee of $1,200 all this time i thought i had all this money saved up. When i cancelled with them (a week ago) i found out i was only getting back $355 & i’ve been with them almost a year!!! It’s in the fine print but i was so eager to get help that i signed almost $1,000 away & i’ll never get it back!! Not to mention, they have TERRIBLE customer service & it’s extremely difficult to get a hold of a representative. Trust me that you really can negotiate on your own, you DON’T NEED THIS COMPANY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Please read “DEBT CURE$ “They” Don’t want YOU to know about” that book changed my life!!!

We thankfully had only been with this company for 4 months. We thought everything was going along fine until we get court papers on one of our accounts we handed over to them. I can never get in contact with anyone there and the only way anyone would contact me back was when I put in an email that I would get my own attorney and sue them for attorney fees and court costs. That was about 3 weeks ago. Now I had tried to get in touch with them for 2 days and no one responded to my emails, and yet again couldn’t get anyone by phone, so I had to send another email saying that I was going to call my bank and tell them that no further transactions were allowed until someone could call me, they magically call me within minutes and tell me that their program is not right for me. Well it was right until I started questioning them on where my money was going. They told me I should have never been set up on their program. At least they said they would be getting all my money back to me. But now both of the accounts that we turned over to them have went to attorneys and we have more costs that we have to pay.

Esther, your story is identical to mine. I am now contemplating suing them but don;t know what I can sue them for so I am consulting with an attorney. Any suggestions?

Before you sign up with this company, read the small print carefully. When I went with them I had only 2 credit cards and they both were up to date. I also got a silver tongued salesman that told me I would be out of dept in a year and a half. They told me not to pay the credit card payments they would settle. I realized quickly that this non payment was sending my credit rating down the tubes. They did reach a settlement and I am paying off the one but the other was just left in limbo. They say they will deal with the credit card companies when they call well that is a lie. The credit card people continue to call me and like the people in the other reviews they do not call you back. I was sued and now I not only have to pay the credit card debt but I also have to pay the court cost and attorney fees. Last time I got someone to call me back they said they could not help me with the filing against me. They were going to close my account but they will continue to collect their fee from the one card they settled. You have to pay them a monthly fee and also pay again when the debt is paid off. They must be raking in the money and doing nothing. All I can say is that this was the worst mistake I could have made. I went from an excellent credit rating to a bad one. Don’t make the same mistake I did. If you need help with your cards, go with the companies that work with the credit card people to get you lower percentage rates and you continue to make your payment. That way you are paying your cards off and your credit rating does not have to suffer. DON’T GO WITH THIS COMPANY. CHECK THEIR BBB RATING, DON’T DISTROY YOUR CREDIT. BEWARE!!!

I was with this company for a year and a half and have sunk over $4000 into their program. A credit card settled with me, but because I was in their program, they collected the additional 10% fee. It is also misleading that one card kept gaining interest and they settled that one (without my authorization) and collected their fee on the difference AFTER interest piled up at 30% for that year and a half. Yes, it’s a scam. If anybody can let me know what type of attorney can be hired for something like this, I’m in. I wouldn’t mind seeing this company go down the tubes. Also, they lost an account of mine (said it closed) and I had to find out where it went for them. I did all the work, they collected the money. Scam, scam, scam – very expensive one.
