1st Freedom Debt Solution charges a flat $99 application fee and 16% of your total debt amount. This fee structure makes them a bit higher than most companies. The $99 does not really make much sense to me since they are taking your first few payments as fees anyway. The company is a member of TASC. They have also recently been running several radio ads to promote themselves.

I was told on the phone that their company has been in business for seven years. When I attempted to look 1st Freedom Debt Solution up with the Better Business Bureau, they were unlisted (generally true of companies less than a year old). Their Dunn and Bradstreet information also says the company was started in 2007. I am not sure why I was told they had been in business for so long, it does not give me a good feeling about them.
